Following the success of CNG - NGV VIETNAM 2009 co-organized by VN Ventures (VNV) and All Event Groups(AEG) and Economic Development & Commercial Promotion Corporation(EDC) from 6th to 7th, April, 2009 and in response to encouraging the community to use compressed natural gas, VN Ventures & Gas & Oil  Culture – Sport Company (PSCC) launched The Green Highways project 2009 from 16th Sep to 21th Sep, 2009 in Vietnam under the main sponsors from Petrovietnam Gas Corporation & the Asia Pacific Natural Vehicles Association  (ANGVA)

The relay is to encourage the community to use natural gas instead of energy sources producing waste harmful to the environment and people’s health, Rizal H. Rahman, an ANGVA representative, said at a press briefing in Ho Chi Minh on Sept. 16.

ANGVA Green Highways 2009 includes Highway A through Iran, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Myanmar while ANGVA Green Highway B comprises Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and China. The two journeys would end in South Korea for the ANGVA Conference 2009 October 27-29.

In Vietnam, the convoy of vehicles of Thai Lan team would hand over an ANGVA Green Highways Project torch and flag at the Cau Treo border gate in the central province of Ha Tinh on Sept. 18. Then the relay would travel through urban centres to Hanoi, and end its journey in Vietnam on Sept. 21 at the Huu Nghi border gate, in the northern province of Lang Son after its torch & flag handed over to China team.
